BOOKING & GUARANTEE POLICY:
Low and High Season
To confirm, a one-night deposit is due at the time of booking.
The final balance will be automatically processed 45 days before arrival.
Peak Season
To confirm, a two-night deposit is due at the time of booking.
The final balance will be automatically processed 60 days before arrival.
Rates and conditions are subject to change without prior notice until the deposit has been received and reservations are confirmed.
Reservations confirmed under ‘Specials and Deals’ are due in full at the time of booking.
CANCELLATION POLICY:
High and Low Season
Full refund less US$100 processing fee, per room, if canceled more than 45 days before arrival.
Deposits are Non-Refundable 45 days or less before arrival.
Peak Season
Full refund less US$150 processing fee, per room, if canceled more than 45 days before arrival.
Deposits are Non-Refundable 60 days or less before arrival.
We strongly recommend the purchase of trip cancellation/interruption insurance to safeguard your travel expenses due to any unforeseen circumstances.

PAYMENT:
We accept VISA, AMERICAN EXPRESS and MASTERCARD.
All charges are done in Belize Currency at a fixed of US$1 to BZ$2. Additional charges may apply; we advise that you confirm with your bank/credit card company.
CHANGES:
Should a guest wish to cancel a reservation and transfer the booking to another date, we will make every effort to do this without incurring a cancellation charge, but this will be subject to availability and season.
HURRICANE POLICY:
We are required to evacuate the resort if demanded by local authorities during the approach of a tropical storm, hurricane or other forecasted natural disaster.
In the event of evacuation, in-house guests have the option of checking out early or relocating to alternative accommodation elsewhere in the country. We will assist our guests wherever possible to find alternative accommodations if they choose that option. Please note that Portofino is not responsible for the financial responsibility of this option.
Guests that have not yet checked in, have opted to check out early or relocate, will be allowed to reschedule and apply unused credits towards a future stay. Unused credits can be used towards a future stay within two years; space is subject to availability. There will be no refunds for cancellations as a result of weather conditions, travel advisories, acts of God, and hurricanes, therefore we strongly encourage the purchase of Travel Insurance.

NOTICE:
As you may already be aware, the Caribbean, Mayan Riviera and our beautiful Belize’s coastline have been experiencing an influx of sargassum. Although sargassum on beaches is not uncommon during certain months, we have been experiencing this challenge sporadically throughout the year and in larger quantities than would be typical. Mother Nature as we know, is always at work and our grounds team continues to clean up as quickly and effectively as possible, to ensure that our guests enjoy the beach regardless.
Ambergris Caye still continues to offer an enjoyable island getaway for visitors. Besides on-site amenities, including our popular restaurant, beautiful swimming pool and massage hut, guests also enjoy a golf cart adventure to swim and watch the stunning sunsets at the infamous ‘Secret’ Beach, located on the west side which is not prone to sargassum. Carpe Diem Charters, operating right off the end of our dock, offers great fishing and snorkeling opportunities to enjoy the island as well.
